Nancy Murray McFadden was the best choice ever for selling my house and finding me a new house. My house sold for over asking price and my new place was bought for under asking. But, what happened in between is even more impressive.
Nancy’s attention to detail is astounding. She orchestrated a half dozen people to put my house of 22+ years in the best possible light for sale. Her vast pool of contacts (all of whom are knowledgeable, kind, and honest) is impressive. Her eye for design [rivals] any interior designer.
Nancy then negotiated a contract for my new home with her knowledge of the market but, also with a great deal of intuition, a trait that benefitted me when it came to getting me a home I love at a price that was affordable for me.
Nancy worked so hard for me every step of the way. She took me to look at more homes than I care to admit without an ounce of impatience. She was literally available to me when I needed her and knew when to let me absorb the choices provided.
I believe anyone looking to sell or buy real estate would be hard pressed to find a broker more honest, hard working and devoted to her clients’ best interest.
About Nancy
Houses run in the family. Nature came first.
Nancy grew up in Palm Beach, Florida, where most of her family still lives. The Florida sunshine gave her a love of the outdoors, and that took her somewhere other than real estate first.
A first career in the natural world
She went to work for the National Audubon Society, first in New York City and then running a nature sanctuary in Tiburon, California. Her first job in Denver was Director of Visitor Services at what was then the Museum of Natural History, now the Denver Museum of Nature & Science.
More than 25 years later she is still here, and Colorado has only deepened those interests. She lives in Cherry Hills Village with her husband, Scott, and two dogs, Bear and River.
A family of builders
Real estate came to her by way of family. Her maternal grandfather, Edwin B. Mahoney, was a well-known custom builder on the Philadelphia Main Line, and Scott is a residential developer. Nancy has spent much of her life around framing, finishes and the question of what a house could be.
Into real estate
She earned her license in 2013, worked with a small firm and joined the Preferred Properties Team at Compass in 2020. She brought her love of renovation and design with her, and she has been commended “for a great eye for emerging properties and first time homes.” Her first flip confirmed what she already suspected: she loves seeing the potential in a property and watching it change.
Her clients range from first-time buyers to people leaving a home they’ve had for decades. The work spans a condominium in Capitol Hill and a $4.15 million sale in Cherry Hills Village, and she approaches both the same way.

In clients’ words
What it’s like to work with Nancy
I worked with Nancy on the purchase of my very first home and had an excellent experience! She knew exactly how to handle every situation and made sure I understood every step of the process. I felt very comfortable working with her and now have a home that I love!
I had the pleasure to work with Nancy on two real estate transactions over the past 3 years. I was so impressed with her commitment to find the best home for us but she also managed to help us sell our home for more than the original appraisal. She’s a true professional and made the whole process fun!! I would highly recommend Nancy to anyone looking for a fantastic, diligent and committed Realtor.
